best troupes, showcased over two nights at a monthly series at Toronto’s iconic Second City.

Spotlight at The Second City

One Tuesday and Wednesday every month – Toronto Sketch Comedy and The Second City Toronto present Spotlight at The Second City, featuring two comedy troupes performing over two nights at The Second City’s Theatre ‘73.

Each month, the Second City Toronto opens its doors to the next generation of sketch for audiences to enjoy during a double-header sketch show featuring two celebrated troupes performing polished 30-minute sets for a two-show run. Hosted and produced by Taylor Hreljac and Gabe Meacher, this series presents sketch comedy’s best troupes in their best light.

Two acts each night – for an amazing evening of fresh comedy

After a successful launch in September 2025, Spotlight at the Second City continues to highlight remarkable sketch comedy talent. So far, audiences have laughed along with Potato Potato and Small Friend Tall Friend (September); $20 Sandwich and Sarah Bennett (October); and Red Hot Sili Peppers and Summer Dad (November) – with Andy Assaf and Vivek Srikanthan, and clown duo Glen and Vinny coming up in December.

The shows are on one Tuesday and Wednesday each month, with that month’s two comedy troupes performing on both nights. Check The Second City Toronto website for details and tickets for upcoming dates.

“It is a rare opportunity for sketch troupes to perform their feature-length shows more than once outside of the festival circuit. We partnered with The Second City to create this monthly show where established and emerging sketch troupes, that the whole scene is excited about, can show their best stuff to industry and audiences on a professional stage.”
