Being and Becoming: Annual Public Philosophy Social 2026

One night only – on Saturday, January 31, 2026 – Being and Becoming hosts their annual philosophy social, an evening of meaningful conversations and community for those seeking connection with others through dialogue and shared exploration. Come solo or bring a friend to the Centre for Social Innovation Spadina.

Gathering to spark conversations & explore ideas

For the past two years, Being and Becoming has been organizing in-person conversations about love, morality, humour, AI, forgiveness, democracy, consciousness and more. Once a year, they come together for a big social that welcomes anyone who enjoys exploring ideas, questions and experiences with others in a more spontaneous (and perhaps also serendipitous) way than their usual programming.

This year, they’ll be gathering at one of their favourite venues to meet friends, spark conversations about questions big and small, and celebrate two years of being and becoming curious together. There’ll be just enough facilitation to help you find others who share your curiosity about the same questions, along with refreshments (small bites and non-alcoholic beverages) and a cash bar.

Whether you’ve attended their events before or are joining them for the first time, they’re excited to welcome you. Spread the word – they hope you can join them!

About Being and Becoming

Being and Becoming: A Community for the Curious is a Toronto-based non-profit organization that aims to create a community around the philosophical exploration of ideas, questions and experiences so that we may live more intentional, connected and meaningful lives. By offering activities, spaces and other opportunities for conversation and co-exploration, they hope to enable the meeting and fusion of individuals and their ideas. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background: indeed, they believe the journey is best undertaken alongside explorers from a variety of disciplines, cultures and backgrounds. Read more about them here.
