Being and Becoming hosts Curiosity Café

Every two weeks, Being and Becoming hosts Curiosity Café, a collaborative exploration of a chosen topic or question. Presented at the Madison Avenue Pub.

Come hang out, grab food and read through the discussion handout from 6:00 to 6:30 PM. Then, structured discussions usually run from 6:30 to 8:30 PM with a 10-minute break in the middle. Past Curiosity Café topics have included The Ethics of the Family, The Value of Love, Epistemic Injustice and Friendship. Through these events, Being and Becoming aims to create community around exploring everyday concepts and experiences so that we may live more intentional, thoughtful and meaningful lives.

They’ve also started a Curiosity Café (Revisited) series, where they repeat previous topics, sometimes with a slight twist, sometimes with the same questions.

About Being and Becoming

Being and Becoming: A Community for the Curious is a Toronto-based non-profit organization founded and led by students of philosophy. The organization aims to create a community around the philosophical exploration of ideas, questions and experiences. By offering activities, spaces and other opportunities for conversation and co-exploration, they hope to enable the meeting and fusion of individuals and their ideas. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background: indeed, they believe the journey is best undertaken alongside explorers from a variety of disciplines, cultures and backgrounds. Read more about them here.
