FUSION presents: Henry Goodman Exhibition for Emerging Artists

From Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, October 11, 2026: FUSION, Ontario’s clay and glass association, presents the inaugural Henry Goodman Exhibition for Emerging Artists. This exhibition honours the legacy of Henry Goodman – a ceramic artist, educator, and former President of FUSION whose lifelong dedication to mentoring early-career artists continues to shape the field. This new, juried exhibition invites emerging Canadian clay and glass artists to explore the theme of Gathering. The exhibition travels to three venues across Ontario in 2026: Art Gallery of Burlington, Rails End Gallery in Haliburton, and Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke.

Centred on the theme Gathering

The Henry Goodman Exhibition for Emerging Artists brings together a range of functional and sculptural works that each offer a personal interpretation of Gathering—what it means to come together, to hold space, and to create meaning through objects and interaction. Explore each of the exhibiting artists and their pieces in the Henry Goodman Exhibition for Emerging Artists 2026 catalogue.

“The works in this exhibition reflect a wide range of interpretations drawing on personal history, cultural tradition, material process, and lived experience to explore what it means to gather. Together, they offer a portrait of emerging artists finding their voice in clay and glass. ”

– Lucie Grys, FUSION Executive Director

About the juror

The exhibition juror is Chukwudubem Ukaigwe, an artist, curator and writer born in Lagos, Nigeria. Chukwudubem works in ceramics, sound, video and installation, often mixing these materials to tell stories in unexpected ways. His clay pieces play with form and surface, sometimes blending traditional techniques with experimental ideas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba and was recently shortlisted for the 2025 Sobey Art Award.
