An immersive theatre experience of Scrooge’s journey of redemption
Now in its fifth year, A Christmas Carol invites audiences to step into the world of Victorian London and follow the flinty miser Ebenezer Scrooge on his ghostly journey of redemption, performed on all three floors of the Campbell House Museum. A mirthful medley of magic, music and the macabre, this adaptation of Charles Dickens’ story features original scenes, characters and songs, making it a retelling of the beloved holiday tale unlike any other!
From Wednesday, December 6 to Friday, December 22, The Three Ships Collective, with the support of Soup Can Theatre, presents this highly original, immersive and critically acclaimed adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at Toronto’s historic Campbell House Museum. Adapted by Justin Haigh and directed by Sare Thornton, Thomas Gough returns as Scrooge, with Chloe Bradt, Will Carr, Justine Christensen, Nicholas Eddie, Alyzia Inès Fabregui, Diana “Deebs” Franz, John Fray, Renisha Henry, Jonnie Lombard, Manon Ens-Lapointe, Ava Marquis, Luke Marty, Briony Merritt and Jesse Nerenberg rounding out the cast.
“Brilliant … If the thought of seeing yet another staging of A Christmas Carol makes you cringe, check your cynicism – and your preconceptions – at the door. [This] version isn’t your same-old, bah humbug affair. … Captures all the spirit of the Charles Dickens tale … Don’t be surprised if, days after seeing this show, you’re haunted by the play’s generous spirit.”
