Fountain pen, writing & art enthusiasts come together in Montreal, QC.

Annual convention: Scriven Montreal 2026

One day only – Sat, May 30, 2026: Scriven Montreal presents their 2026 pen & stationery convention. This annual event hosts over 30 exhibitors with art, writing instruments & homemade inks, journalling supplies, workshops & more. Free entry. Presented in the Sanctuary at Espace Jax.

Regional shops, local artisans, big-name brands & more!

This day-long event features a community of fountain pen, writing and art enthusiasts. You’ll find some big-name brands, shops from Eastern Canada, and many local artisans, pen makers, nibmeisters* and more. Plus, you can attend writing and inking art workshops, relax in a social gathering space (indoors and outdoors, weather permitting), and enjoy free goodies and a raffle!

Scriven Montreal returns to Espace Jax in the much larger Sanctuary room this year. This year’s theme is “Silent Old Beam”, inspired by the historic room with a gothic arched ceiling and woodwork from the 1800s.

Workshops will begin at 10:15 AM ET; this year’s workshops are given in English and they look forward to including French workshops in coming years. The raffle draw and prize distribution will take place at 4:00 PM ET. Please note: Raffle winners must be in attendance to claim their prize or another number will be called. All day long, there’ll be a lounge with food, tea and coffee, and a quiet sitting room. They invite you to come relax, share, socialize, journal and enjoy!

Signature Sponsor

The event Signature Sponsor this year is LEUCHTTURM1917 Canada. Scriven Montreal will have this sponsor’s 120g A5 journals on hand, embossed with the event’s design. LEUCHTTURM1917 Canada will be present to provide personalized embossing.

Featured guests

Urban Sketchers Toronto and Montreal will be sketching at the event.

“‘Scriven’ is an archaic word meaning ‘to put into writing’. A scribe is also a scrivener. The scribe scrives, scrived, or has scriven. Just because something is old, does not mean it is without value or interest. Long live the archaic words!”
