Aye Caesar

From Saturday, September 26 to Sunday, October 4, 2026 – Stakes & Embers and Carolyn Fe Productions present Aye Caesar, a tender, haunting meditation on mental health, technology and the quiet ache of human longing – inspired by Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics. Presented in association with Eldritch Theatre at Red Sandcastle Theatre.

Can technology be humane?

In a time when AI and Deepfake flaws are imperceptible, can technology be humane?

An elderly woman goes online shopping and is assisted by the store’s customer service rep. A fondness develops and trust builds – but is the bond enough to save a life? In the grip of an increasingly illusory world, Carolyn Fe’s debut production forages elder isolation, technology, grief and the need for something… and someone… to hold on to.

Directed by Tanisha Taitt (Dora award nominee and Gina Wilkinson Prize awardee), the cast features April Leung and Carolyn Fe (two-time Dora award nominee, Betty Mitchell award nominee and Toronto Theatre Critics’ awardee).

Aye Caesar was introduced at a sold-out public reading at the 2024 SummerWorks Festival, in collaboration with Cahoots Theatre.
