A zombie survival guide

The staged reading of a terrifying tale of five people fighting for their lives.

Eldritch Horrors play readings: Zombocalypse!

A special staged reading series of Eldritch works unearthed from the grave…

Throughout 2024, like carnal gusts of wind billowing from robbed graves, Eldritch Theatre will be cursing their beloved patrons with Eldritch Horrors: Plays from the Tomb – play readings of some of their undead classics from aeons passed: Dear Boss (2004 Outstanding New Play Dora Award Nomination) on March 11 and The Babysitter (2007 Outstanding Production Dora Award Nomination) on June 10; plus a special preview of their newest play in development: Zombocalypse! to commence this horrific journey on January 14.

One day only, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, Eldritch Theatre presents the first of its Eldritch Horrors: Plays from the Tomb staged reading series: Zombocalypse! at Red Sandcastle Theatre. Written by Eric Woolfe and directed by Mairi Babb, the cast includes Lisa Norton, Kimun Perehinec, Craig Lauzon, Patrice Goodman and Eric Woolfe.

Zombie apocalypse survival 101

Take George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club and the Government of Canada’s nuclear war survival pamphlet Seven Steps to Survival and run them through a blender, and you get Zombocalypse!. The tragic, totally true, terrifying tale of a prince, a rebel, a jock, a brain and recluse trying to survive that horrible day in 1986 when the dead rose to feast on the flesh of the living. A staged reading of Eldritch Theatre’s newest work in progress.

Eric Woolfe is one of the city’s genuine, gloriously obsessive originals. No other local theatre company has as completely-defined an aesthetic as his Eldritch Theatre, which specializes in imaginative, lo-fi, old-school horror and mystery stories, with puppetry and a bit of magic thrown into the mix.
