A simple way

to get started with making your own art prints.

Linocut Relief Printing Class

Beginners and near-beginners welcome!

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to design suitable imagery and carve a linoleum block for relief printing. You’ll improve your carving skills and printing skills, getting further experience printing both by hand and on an etching press. We will also talk about multi-block registration and reduction linocut. Participants will have the opportunity to incorporate any or all of these methods into their final editions. Over the course of three weeks, participants will carve and print 2 editions of prints, one one-colour print and one multi-layered reduction print. Basic carving tools, as well as paper to proof and print on will be supplied. Participants are welcome/encouraged to bring their own tools and paper if they have them as well.
