Sex, death & loss Sex, death & loss

explored in a queer, inclusive & sex positive literary cabaret series.

Little Deaths Salon

One night only – on Thursday, July 17, 2025 – Kaleigh Trace and Christa Couture present the third edition of the Little Deaths Salon, a performance series that explores the awe inspired by humans’ most intimate experiences: sex and death.

Irreverent conversations about death & reverent conversations about sex

A night to live, laugh, love and lament, the idea for Little Deaths Salon came from co-host Kaleigh Trace’s desire to have more irreverent conversations about death, and her history of having reverent conversations about sex.

Performers will present pieces exploring sex and/or death, coming and/or going. Think sultry literary series. Think queer church. Think collective effervescence. Some suggest “la petite mort” represents a spiritual release and a connection to something larger than oneself.

Sex and death are common to all humans — but are also specific in ways to those who live with disabilities. Little Deaths Salon is a quarterly cabaret series that uplifts underrepresented voices exploring these tender, vital subjects.

Little Deaths Salon is hosted by Kaleigh Trace, a queer, disabled therapist, former sex educator, and writer who is also living with terminal cancer; and Christa Couture, a writer, filmmaker, singer-songwriter and broadcaster who is proudly queer, disabled, Indigenous and a mom.

“We’re all just doing our best while we’re here. Little Deaths is a reminder that living is a short, sweet and sultry endeavour.”

– Kaleigh Trace, co-host, Little Deaths Salon

The third edition line-up
