Macbeth: A Tale Told by an Idiot!

From Wednesday, May 7 to Sunday, May 18, 2025: The return of Eldritch Theatre’s acclaimed Macbeth: A Tale Told by an Idiot!, a hysterically inspired one-man Macbeth at Red Sandcastle Theatre!

Step into the darkness – and be amazed, horrified and delighted!

Shakespeare’s blood-soaked king, with weird witches, viscera-sopped murders, nightmares of madness and terrifying occult prophecies crash head on with a ghoulishly giddy bag of timorous trickery! Performed by a solo actor using a diverse range of multi-sized puppets, masks and parlour magic, cosmic horror and lowbrow pop, this Mad Mackers is equal parts high tragedy and cartoonish lunacy.

Based on William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, this terrifying tale of deadly ambition and dark magic was conceived by Eric Woolfe, and will be performed by Woolfe, directed by Dylan Trowbridge. Eldritch Theatre’s 2024 production received Dora Award nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Individual, Outstanding Set Design and Outstanding Costume Design.

If you missed it last time, now is your chance to redeem yourself… If you experienced its terrifying regicidal lunacy before, now is your chance to bring a friend…

“Anyone lucky enough to see this Macbeth will never forget it… an artist at the peak of his bizarre and bonkers powers.”

– Drew Rowsome
