Older & Reckless 25

For three performances only – on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22, 2025 – Moonhorse Dance Theatre celebrates the 25th anniversary of Older & Reckless at the Fleck at Harbourfront Centre Theatre. An annual dance show presenting works by lifelong performers and creators age 45+, this year’s program features four dance works created and performed by luminary dance artists, plus a community ensemble of over 20 mature dance enthusiasts.

The nationally acclaimed series of dance works returns!

Curated by Moonhorse Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director Allison Cummings, Older & Reckless seeks to redefine destructive assumptions about age and dance ability; and celebrate artists over 45 who continuously take risks, ask pertinent questions and dig deep into nuance.

This year’s bill includes:

  • “Handmade”: A premiere duet by acclaimed Montreal-based artists Marc Boivin and Louise Bédard that explores the invitation to be Older & Reckless;
  • “de corazón”: A love letter to the heart – its resilience, its mischief, its ache and its boundless capacity for joy – choreographed by William Yong and performed by ballet legend Sonia Rodriguez; and
  • “Elsinore/night hours”: A highly anticipated remount of a work by Carol Anderson and performed by Julia Sasso, originally presented by this dynamic duo in 1999.

The program also features a new dance created by Jenn Goodwin for this year’s Older & Reckless Community Performance Project, featuring over 20 mature dance enthusiasts.

In addition to the dance performances, to mark Moonhorse Dance Theatre’s 25th anniversary of Older & Reckless, they’ll screen a special video celebrating the work and artists that have taken the stage over the years.
