“It is a rare opportunity for sketch troupes to perform their feature-length shows more than once outside of the festival circuit. We partnered with The Second City to create this monthly show where established and emerging sketch troupes, that the whole scene is excited about, can show their best stuff to industry and audiences on a professional stage.”
– Taylor Hreljac & Gabe Meacher, Toronto Sketch Comedy & Co-hosts of Spotlight at The Second City

About Potato Potato
Part political satire, part sketch show – with a generous dose of dread – Potato Potato @ Second City is a brand new show written and created by Ashlyn Kusch, Daniel Bagg, Lizzie Song, Callan Forrester, Rami Khan and Erika Rogstad. With Canadian politics popping off and the climate crisis at its peak, Potato Potato draws from their theatre and musical backgrounds to explore the topics that weigh heavily on the minds of Canadians, like the housing crisis – or if the Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau date means anything. This show is all about what it’s like to live in today’s world. But hey, it’s not that bad… right?
About Small Friend Tall Friend
Small Friend Tall Friend brings sketches and songs that are all about pop culture, identity politics and being in your 20s. Tackling essential topics like being attracted to Nosferatu, failing diversity training at work and even being gay. They hope to make you laugh… and contemplate. Small Friend Tall Friend, featuring Becky Ablack, Zoe Marin, David Civcic and Stephanie Perri, has performed at the Comedy Is Art Festival, Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, Montreal SketchFest and Toronto Fringe – and were named Critics’ Pick at Hamilton Fringe.
