Happy 190th birthday, Toronto!
Come celebrate at the Town of York Historical Society’s annual fundraiser
On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the Town of York Historical Society and Toronto’s First Post Office host Unveiling Toronto’s Architectural Tapestry: A History of Toronto’s Changing Landscape, a fundraising gala at St. Lawrence Hall to celebrate the City of Toronto. Featuring guest speakers Summer Leigh, Adam Bunch and Alessandro Tersigni, this event not only commemorates the incorporation of the City of Toronto, but serves as a unique opportunity to unravel Toronto’s architectural tapestry and connect with the vibrant history that has shaped the City into the cultural hub it is today!
”Delve into the evolving architectural scene of the Town of York and the City of Toronto, as we emphasize the importance of built heritage in shaping the identity of our beloved city.”
In addition to the guest speakers, the event will also include a selection of stationery vendors – including Young W! (drop by our table for a visit) – and a silent auction. This event directly contributes to the ongoing mission of preserving the history of the Town of York and early Toronto, as well as Toronto’s historical gems – offering attendees an opportunity to support the preservation of the City’s rich heritage.
