A set of bookmarks, each showing a portion of a photo of a collage. The collage features vintage-inspired postcards on top of a green foliage backdrop together with pink ribbon, and several text cards that feature a quote from the book 'The Sorrows of Young Werther' by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. One bookmark lies diagonally across the others, its card reads: "folliness.com".

You may be wondering about Folliness

Follies by Rory Fraser

“Follies” by Rory Fraser

In case you are wondering about that word you may have seen pop up here or there… Yes, we admit that “folliness” is not a real word. But it was needed. So we made it up. There is of course the word “folly”, which exists already, but it only describes architectural follies. So it didn’t work for any folly-like objects or things that are not buildings, physical structures or in any way architecture-related. A new word was clearly needed. So we came up with “folliness” as a word and as a concept. Read all about folliness here.

So why are you telling me about this?

You may now be wondering what this post is doing here and if this post may itself be an example of folliness. This post is here to explain what folliness is, since we are obsessed with it and because folliness is an important part of Young W’s essence, just like the books “The Sorrows of Young Werther” and “Digital Minimalism”.
