For two days only – Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2, 2026 – Artspace presents its 10th Annual Book & Zine Fest, featuring the work of comics artists and graphic novelists, letterpress printers, zine makers, and many other book and paper arts makers, plus workshops! Presented with the Peterborough Public Library, in the Friends of the Library Room.
Come celebrate regional press, zine, comic & paper arts!
This cherished event is a wonderful opportunity to peruse and support local book and zine* artists. Book & Zine Fest is family-friendly and free to attend (with suggested donations to Artspace Peterborough). From notebooks to art prints and from graphic novels to poetry, there’s truly something for everyone.
For the 10th anniversary of their festival, Artspace’s presentation partnership with the Peterborough Public Library enables them to offer more vendors and programming opportunities for visitors than ever before.
Featured book & zine workshop
On Friday, May 1, the Fest presents the Nemoralis Book Making Workshop. The Nemoralis Book is based on a Medieval record book originally not created by bookbinders, but record keepers. The technique is somewhat experimental in nature and historically would have utilized found materials. The limp binding is based on a 16th century registry of a town’s lumber consumption. The cover is of folded construction, made from heavy paper and held closed with a leather cord. The sections of the book are sewn directly to the cover with a unique free-form sewing pattern that includes a final gathering.
This workshop will be led by expert bookbinder and instructor Stuart Hill, founder of George Hill & Co., an establishment devoted to the craft of bookbinding. Registration is required (see the Registration link below).
