The Case Bound Book with Andrew Huot

Tue, Jun. 16 & Tue, Jun. 23: Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild hosts The Case Bound Book workshop. Students will learn a sewing structure for page blocks and create covers, which will then be joined to the sewn block. Facilitated by book artist and operator of Big River Bindery book art studio, Andrew Huot. Online via Zoom, with no prerequisite training needed.

Recurring event: A long wooden table in the centre of a shop, set with vintage typewriters and red folding chairs.

Regional Assembly of Text: Monthly Letter Writing Club

Back by popular demand! The first Thursday of every month: Join The Regional Assembly of Text at their Vancouver shop for their monthly letter writing club. This free event is open to everyone, especially those who love writing & receiving letters. Supplies, including typewriters, & refreshments provided. Each event has two sessions of 18 people each – first come, first served.

Issues Magazine Shop: Collage Workshops

Several nights a month: Issues Magazine Shop hosts their collage workshop. Come out to cut & paste and create your own collage to create memory – a reflection, a love note, a vision board or a blessing for the future. No prior experience necessary. All supplies provided. All ages welcome.

Cute as a Button Book workshop

PAST EVENT: One day only – Sun, May 10, 2026: Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild hosts the Cute as a Button Book workshop, facilitated by book artist Anna Yevtukh. Learn how to create your own miniature book (5 cm diameter) that’s as cute as a button! No prerequisite training needed. Online via Zoom, with a maximum of 25 participants.

10th Annual Artspace Book & Zine Fest

PAST EVENT: Two days only – Fri, May 1 & Sat, May 2, 2026: Artspace hosts its 10th Annual Book & Zine Fest, featuring the work of comics artists and graphic novelists, letterpress printers, zine makers, & many other book & paper arts makers, plus workshops! Family-friendly & free to attend (donation suggested). Presented with the Peterborough Public Library, in the Friends of the Library Room.
