Book Launch: The Translating Subject

PAST EVENT: On Thu, Nov. 20, 2025: Another Story Bookshop hosts the launch of The Translating Subject by Melissa Tanti, in conversation with Lorraine York. Tanti’s book explores how queer women writers use multilingual strategies to create intimacy with the unknown, and enable ethical engagement across social, cultural and linguistic differences. Presented in partnership with McGill-Queen's University Press.

PAST EVENT: From Thu, Nov. 7 – Sat, Nov. 15, 2025: Bowtie Productions presents tick, tick… BOOM! on the Alumnae Theatre Mainstage. Set in 1990, this autobiographical musical by Pulitzer & Tony award-winning American composer, lyricist & playwright Jonathan Larson takes audiences on a personal journey of discovery that led to an award-winning Broadway blockbuster.

Toronto Antiquarian Book Fair 2025

PAST EVENT: Fri, Nov. 14 – Sun, Nov. 16, 2025: The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of Canada hosts the Toronto Antiquarian Book Fair (TABF), an annual event to encourage and support bookish enthusiasm, featuring over 20 exhibitors from Canada, the U.S. and overseas. Think of it as a mashup of Antiques Roadshow and a refined pop-up market – with books!

Doc Wuthergloom’s Little Lib’ary of the Damned

PAST EVENT: From Thu, Oct. 30 – Sun, Nov. 9, 2025: Eldritch Theatre opens their 2025-26 season of sundry horrors & night terrors with Doc Wuthergloom’s Little Lib’ary of the Damned at Red Sandcastle Theatre. Armed with a caravan of creepy puppets & dark parlour magic, Toronto’s favourite itinerant exorcist returns to warn us all of the horrific dangers that lurk within the pages of the ancient forbidden books that line the shelves of his Little Lib’ary. Audiences 18+.

Comedy is Art. Festival 2025

PAST EVENT: Three nights only, from Thu, Oct 23 – Sat, Oct. 25, 2025: The Theatre Centre presents its annual Comedy is Art. festival. A Black Art Fair 2025
