Two days only – Sat, Apr. 26 & Sun, Apr. 27, 2025: Upstart & Crow, a creative studio and literary incubator, partners with New Leaf Editions print studio for a special hands-on, two-day workshop in which attendees transform a short poem into print form. Learn the essentials of letterpress and print a broadsheet with your chosen, short poem to take home. Only six spots available!

This free event is open to everyone, especially those who love writing & receiving letters. Supplies, including typewriters, & refreshments provided. Each event has two sessions of 18 people each – first come, first served.

PAST EVENT: Now till Sun, Mar. 16, 2025: The Vancouver Art Gallery hosts the first mid-career survey exhibition dedicated to the work of NYC-based artist Firelei Báez, one of the most exciting painters of her generation. The exhibition features over two dozen paintings, drawings and sculptural installations, created over two decades – all expansively vibrant and original, creating a sense of otherworldliness.

Shelley Niro: 500 Year Itch exhibition

PAST EVENT: Now till Mon, Feb. 17, 2025: Vancouver Art Gallery hosts Shelley Niro: 500 Year Itch, the first major retrospective of the award-winning Mohawk multimedia artist’s work. Created with sharp humour & irony, often using pop culture references, her photography, film, painting, installation, sculpture & mixed media works highlight themes that hold deep meaning for her: Matriarchy, Past is Present, Actors & Family Relations.
