Here is what’s included:
This book, an epistolary novel and major work of the Sturm und Drang era of German literature, contains the letters that a character called Werther writes to his friend, Wilhelm. We learn about Werther’s life, but never read Wilhelm’s side of the correspondence. Young Werther has recently gone away to the countryside. He is a bit lost, trying to find himself and soon realizes he is in love. Werther’s flair for drama and deep feelings come alive in these letters that he writes to his friend about nature, love, society and life in general. Although originally written by Goethe in the 1770s, Werther’s passionate exuberance continues to resonate with readers young and old to this day, almost 250 years later.
Inspired by the book that gave Young W its name, The Sorrows of Young Werther, a major work of the Sturm and Drang literary movement.
Made in Guelph (ON) using 100% organic American soy wax and a hemp wick. Wax is free from dyes, parabens, and phthalates.
